One of the most important tapestries in our collection, Apollo and Daphne, woven in the Barberini workshop in Rome in 1659-1660, travelled to New York and Madrid for this major show, which was the first comprehensive survey of top-quality 17th-century European tapestry. |

Visions du déluge [Visions of the Deluge]
Musée cantonal des Beaux-Arts, Lausanne – Switzerland (February
2nd - April 29th 2007)
Four monumental tapestries from the series of the Life of Noah, woven
in Brussels at the beginning of the 17th Century, were on loan to the
exhibition.

Gilbert Bretterbauer – Vernetzungen

The viennese artist and designer Gilbert Bretterbauer has selected significant
works from the collections of the Fondation Toms Pauli and the Museum
für Gestaltung in Zurich in order to comment on the present situation
of textile art.
Elsi Giauque: Space Sculpture Transparency
Aarbergerhus, Ligerz – Switzerland (September 20 – October
1, 2006)
Artworks by the Swiss textile artist Elsi Giauque from the 1950’s
to the 1970’s play with the notion of space. They bear testimony
to the evolution of her work from tapestry to textile sculpture. This
retrospective shows pieces from the artist’s succession and from
private and public collections.

15th edition of the international contemporary textile art exhibition
Church of San Francesco, Como – Italy (24 September - 29 October
2005)
This yearly show gathers mini-textiles by international artists, selected
by a jury. The Fondation Toms Pauli has contributed to the historical
section of this exhibition by the loan of 9 major pieces. |

September 2004 – 9 January 2005) Selection of 20 monumental pieces
illustrating the thematic variety and the quality of production of Flemish
workshops over three centuries. In order to give an idea of the effect
of origin, the tapestries were grouped together in series (or sets).

after this collection had been given to the newly created Fondation Toms
